Comments FORD ESCORT RS2000 MK1 HISTORIC RALLY CAR
This car was built new for the 2007 season using all new parts to a very professional level, it has only done seven forest events and 1 tarmac event since then. It is now going through a full rebuild with new engine, and rebuilt gearbox and axle.
SHELL:
MK1 Escort RS2000, Built from an original 1974 genuine RS2000 type 49 shell to full historic rally spec finished in Sebring Red.
Full Custom Cage T45 historic cage with seat mounts, seam welded, 5 linked with short links, big tunnels steel big wings. Fibre glass bonnet and boot lid. Fully skidded chassis rails. Prepfab fuel and oil tanks, Rix Engineering World Cup Cross Member, strut brace and skidded sump guard. 4 No. Cibie Super Oscar lamps with quick release brackets. Polycarbonate side and rear windows. It has got neoprene mud flaps (the best) all round, and rear arch protectors.
INTERIOR:
Aircraft specification wiring loom. Goodridge hoses and plumbing throughout the car. Motodrive carbon seats with sabelt 6 point harnesses. Brantz trip meter. Peltor intercom Helmet net.
ENGINE:
The engine has just been built by Coltec Race Engines (with zero stage mile, just road test miles) It has a Pace dry sump system running on Webber twin 48's with bespoke inlet manifold, Coltec camshaft, Steel lighten fly wheel and Quarter Master clutch. Bosch alternator. High torque starter motor.
TRANSMISSION:
Quaife 4 speed rocket gearbox with hydraulic clutch, Rix Engineering thick tube F/Floating atlas axle with a 5.1 lsd with alloy brace.
SUSPENSION and BRAKES:
Bilstein forest spec dampers all round, front has adjustable platforms with twin cam anti roll bar. Rear 145lb multi leaf slipper springs complete with turreted dampers.
STEERING:
Rix Engineering quick rack & pinion, bronze bush with a ratio of 2.5 with green track rod ends.
WHEELS:
6” x 13” Minilite wheels with Dunlop forest tyres.
